Holiday Ministries

Each year, We Care In the Name of Christ offers 6 different Holiday Ministries.  All the ministries listed below rely solely on donations, either financial or physical items.

  • Baskets N’ Bunnies (Easter baskets for children aged 0-12) at First Baptist Church, South Haven.  Provides Easter Baskets to area children with hygeine products, educational items and small gifts through donations.
  • Back-To-School (new clothing and backpacks with school supplies for children aged 0-6) at First Assembly of God, South Haven.  Gives necessary school-related items such as back-packs, school supplies, clothing and shoes to children in Pre-school, Kindergarten or 1st Grade through donations.
  • Project Santa (toys for children aged 0-17) at First Assembly of God, South Haven.  This ministry provides gifts to children in need in the community.  New age-appropriate toys, coats, hygeine products, gift cards and stocking stuffers are donated with donation boxes located at area businesses.  Toys for Tots, a program through the United States Marine Corp., also donates toys to this program.
  • Project Santa (toys for children aged 0-12) at Simpson United Methodist Church, Bangor.  This ministry provides gifts to children in need in the community.  New age-appropriate toys, coats, hygeine products, gift cards and stocking stuffers are donated with donation boxes located at area businesses. 
  • Meal Baskets. Individuals, buisnesses and organizations donate complete meals in re-usuable boxes or bins (such as a laundry basket), including a ham or turkey, sides, dessert and other yummy items to a family in need.  Families who need a Holiday meal, either Thanksgiving or Christmas, can fill out a special Holiday Application and We Care office staff will match them with a donor.
  • Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program.  Individuals, buisnesses and organizations donate complete meals (as stated above) and also gifts to each receiving family member.  Families who are in need over the Holidays can fill out a special holiday application and We Care office staff will match them with a donor.
