We Care I.N.C. works all year doing fundraising in order to provide help for individuals to pay their heating bills.

Our Heat Assistance Ministry is a partnership of St. Basil Catholic Church, 103.7 COSY Radio and We Care I.N.C.

We just finished Heat Season and Warm Your Heart!  Thank you to everyone who contributed to this year’s Warm Your Heart!  We were able to serve over 125 families. We Care alone paid $18,724.13 in heat bills, while securing over $30,000 from other agencies.  Because of your donations, $20,000 was raised to help even more families in need with their heat bills!  For more information about the We Care Heat Ministry, please contact the We Care office (269-637-4342).

If you need assistance with your heat bill, please follow the steps below.

1. Contact the Department of Human Services and/or your caseworker to appy for State Emergency Relief assistance.  (This can now be done on-line.)  They will also refer you to Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency (Van Buren County) or ACRDC (Allegan County).
2. Once you have received the DHS Decision Notice, call the We Care office to set up an appointment to see a We Care Heat Specialist. 
3. Bring the following with you to your appointment - the Decision Notice, your bill or shut-off notice from the gas company, and paperwork from any other agencies or organizations that are helping with your bill.

Contact your local We Care Office to schedule an appointment to receive assistance with your heat bill or to donate to the Heat Ministry.
