November 23 - December 1Preparations for the 5th Annual Festival Of Trees Have Begun!For the past five years, the Festival of Trees has ushered in the Holday Season in Downtown South Haven. The Festival is organized and orchestrated by volunteers throughout the area and relies on generous support of those who decorate trees, wreaths, centerpieces and baskets. We also depend on many local businesses who sponsor all of our weekly events. The theme this year is "Santa's Workshop". We hope that you will join us as we take a trip to the North Pole and visit the elves at Santa's Toyshop, look in on Santa while he reviews his naughty and nice list and much, much, more.... Our PurposeThe Annual Festival of Trees is sponsored by We Care I.N.C. in partnership with various community and area co-sponsors. The purpose of this event is three fold: - To raise funds for We Care, a human-service ministry that helps residents and families in South Haven, Covert, Glenn, Lacota, Bangor, Breedsville, Grand Junction and Pullman areas.
- To raise awareness of We Care I.N.C. and the numerous ministries and services delivered to less fortunate families in our area.
- To provide a special holiday tradition that will assist in uniting and strengthening our community.
We Need Your HELP! Below is a list of volunteer opportunities for the 2012 Festival of Trees. Do you enjoy coordinating events? Are you interested in being part of the planning committee for the 2012 Festival of Trees? If yes, please fill out the Volunteer Registration Form. Tree, Wreath and Centerpiece Designer
Are you creative? Do you enjoy the Christmas season? If yes, volunteering to design and decorate a tree, wreath or centerpiece might be the job for you. We Care purchases all trees and wreaths and our designers are responsible for all decorations and lights. Centerpieces can be bought or specially designed with the Festival of Trees in mind. All items that are used on trees, wreaths and/or centerpieces must be brand new. If you are interested in finding out more please fill out a Volunteer Registration Form. You may also want to look at our Rules and Regulations for tree and wreath designers. All items are sold by silent auction during the week of November 23rd - December 1, 2012. Gift Basket Designer
Our gift baskets were a huge success last year and we are in need of many more for the upcoming 2012 Festial of Trees. We have two different ways that you can be involved with the baskets. You can develop your own theme and put together your own gift basket or you can pick items from our 2012 Basket List and purchase them to be used in a basket that we will be putting together. All baskets must be in the range of $30.00 or higher. We are always in need of people that are willing to welcome our guests during public viewing hours and special events. If you have an easy smile and feel comfortable sharing news of We Care and the Festival of Trees this is the job for you. Please fill our the Volunteer Registration Form. Entertainment
Do you have a group that enjoys performing? We often are in need of groups and/or individuals that are willing to perform, play music or entertain guests during the Festival of Trees. Please fill out the Volunteer Registration Form if you would like to be considered for one of our special events or public viewing hours. Parade
If you are interested in making a float, walking in the 2012 Festival of Trees Parade or assisting the night of the parade, please fill out the Volunteer Registration Form. Set up / Clean Up
If you are more hands on and enjoy decorating, delivering trees or cleaning up, we need your help. Preparing for the Festial of Trees is a huge undertaking and any assistance you can provide would be appreciated. Trees are usually delivered on Sunday, December 2nd.
